Health Care Reform

April 6th, 2010

The Health Care Reform Act bill passed by President Obama will let Americans have more control of their health care.  This law eliminates caps and other unfair insurance practices and makes them illegal. Insurance discrimination based on preexisting conditions is ended. This law creates consumer-friendly health care with the ability to negotiate lower rates .

It is important to know about and understand about this new law.  If you already have a doctor, you can keep your doctor.  If you already have and like your health plan, you do not have to change. There are three key changes that occurs in our health insurance system:

1. Every American who has insurance will benefit by the rules requiring insurance companies treat you fairly.

2. Insurance will become affordable for Americans by creating a new insurance market and giving tax credits to those needing additional help.

3. The cost of health care will begin to decrease for families, businesses and governments.
