Behavioral Health Service Directory Updates

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s a perfect time to remind folks about our community’s newest resource for mental health needs: the Barnstable County Behavioral Health Portal and Service Directory.

When the Portal launched in October 2014, its Service Directory was pre-populated with over 100 behavioral health resources across the Cape and Islands. Since that time several more organizations have added their information, but we need to ensure this fantastic resource is always up to date! Thus, this week all of the organizations currently listed within the Directory will receive an email with encouragement to edit their listing as needed.

The Portal’s specific focus on behavioral health touches on some of the most pressing topics in our community: mental health, substance abuse, and suicide prevention. It provides critical information, communications, and advocacy tools in one place ensuring there’s “no wrong door” for behavioral health needs. And with over 125 organizations, support groups, and coalitions already highlighted in its Service Directory, the Portal is sure to connect people in need to the local programs and services they need most.

If you’d like to edit your current listing in the Barnstable County Behavioral Health Service Directory, or learn how to add a new behavioral health-related service to it, check out this easy online tutorial or email Jessica McHugh for more information today!
