Notice of Funding Available for Continuum of Care

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released the Notice of Funding Available (NOFA) for Cape & Islands Continuum of Care (CoC) on June 28, 2016.  The request for applications is for New and Renewal Projects in:

Permanent Supportive Housing * Rapid Rehousing * New Coordinated Entry System * New HMIS

As the Collaborative Applicant for the Cape and Islands CoC, the Department of Human Services is holding two information sessions on this year’s funding on Thursday, July 14, 2016.  The first session, targeted for renewal projects, begins at 3:00 PM, followed by a session for new applicants beginning at 3:30 PM.  The information sessions will be held in the County Commissioner’s Conference Room, 1st floor Superior Courthouse, Barnstable County Complex located at 3195 Main Street Barnstable Village.

Please note, in order to receive the maximum number of points available for this funding, CoC’s must establish a local application deadline that is 30 days before the HUD deadline of September 14, 2016. This means complete applications are due to the CoC by August 14, 2016, 4:00 PM. 


The local CoC is the Cape and Islands Regional Network on Homelessness, a broad-based public-private partnership committed to identifying and implementing creative solutions to preventing and ending homelessness on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.  The collaborative effort of state, county and local government, social service providers, housing agencies, faith-based organizations, the business community and individuals is convened by the Barnstable County Department of Human Services.
