Special Film Screening: SCREENAGERS

Harwich and Chatham Youth Services are presenting a special screening of the film “SCREENAGERS – Growing Up in the Digital Age”.  The award-winning film examines family life and its relationship to social media, video games, academics, and internet addiction. Authors and brain scientists weigh-in on strategies to empower kids to make healthy choices navigating the digital world.

Barnstable County Department of Human Services’ is dedicated to the healthy choices and resiliency of Cape Cod’s teenagers.  Through our MyChoice Matters media campaign, Substance Abuse Prevention Collaborative (SAPC) grant, and Massachusetts Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative (MOAPC) grant, the Department coordinates a regional approach to promote healthy behaviors, to increase positive decisions, and reinforce the positive behaviors of our community members.

Monomoy Regional School District is a member of the Substance Abuse Prevention Collaborative (SAPC). The Department receives SAPC funding from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.  SAPC uses evidence-based strategies including policy, practice, and system change to reduce substance misuse and build capacity throughout the community to address underage drinking and other illicit substance use.  Other SAPC partners include:  SAPC partners include Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District, Sandwich Public Schools, Cape Cod Community College, Cape Cod Collaborative, and Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.
