Barnstable County Department of Human Services Announces New Coordinator for the Regional Network to Address Homelessness

November 1, 2011. Barnstable County Department of Human Services is pleased to announce that Paula Schnepp has been named as the Coordinator for Regional Network to Address Homelessness. Ms. Schnepp will act as a consultant to the County in her role as the Network Coordinator and will work closely with the Executive Committee of the Network.

Barnstable County, as the convening agency for the Regional Network, has provided funding for this position through the Department of Human Services. The County is committed to the work of the Network in planning and coordinating services regarding homelessness in our region. The Network promotes a coordinated regional approach to homelessness prevention and works to strengthen collaborations among all entities involved in the issue of homelessness.

One of Ms. Schnepp’s first tasks will be to assist the Network in completing the Regional Plan to Address Homelessness. For the past several months, the Network has been undertaking a critical planning process to assess the region’s current homeless situation and identify strategies to address the problem. The final plan, targeted for completion in the next two months, will be reflective of our community’s needs in preventing homelessness. Ms. Schnepp will also be actively involved with the Network’s Client Coordination Council and in compiling a user friendly, web based, housing resource guide.
