Out of the DARKNESS Cape Cod Canal Walk

On September 29th, AFSP Boston Chapter is hosting the inaugural South
Shore/Cape Cod Out of the Darkness Walk at the Cape Cod Canal Park on
Buzzards Bay. They are thrilled to be able to reach out to communities
in the South Shore and the Cape/Islands to promote suicide prevention
education, mental health advocacy and survivor support. AFSP Boston
Chapter is committed to helping and supporting all South Shore and Cape
communities. Since this is the first Walk in the area, AFSP is asking for your
help and support to launch this new and very exciting event. Please
consider getting involved.

2012 TEAM CHALLENGE
Start fundraising early this year! When you register your team,
recruit at least 10 team members raise at least $1,000 by April 15th,
your team name will be listed on the 2012 South Shore/Cape Cod Walk
shirts. Each person only has to solicit $100 in donations by April 30th.

THREE BOSTON CHAPTER WALKS IN 2012
The Boston Chapter is hosting three Walks in Eastern Mass this year.
Wakefield on Sept 22nd, South Shore/Cape Cod on Sept 29th and Brighton
on October 13th. Pick a day that works for you and your team. Share the
information with all your friends on facebook and ask them to join you
at the Walk of your choice.

ABOUT THE AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION
AFSP is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively
dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research,
education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental
disorders and those impacted by suicide.

Proceeds from the Boston Chapter Walks will benefit cities and towns in
Eastern Massachusetts. The Boston Chapter provides depression education
to high schools and colleges, training for gatekeepers and support group
faciliators and support for surviors. Monies raised from the Walks are
invested back to our local neighborhoods.
