Weed To Help Food Pantries
Weather permitting, a weeding opportunity is available in rows of butternut squash and sweet potatoes intended for local food pantries. This is the fourth year that the Cape Cod Organic Farm has grown organic produce for the Cape Cod Hunger Network. The project is funded by the Cape Cod Five Foundation. Barnstable County Cooperative Extension’s Kim Concra is co-chair of the Hunger Network and invites volunteers and families who would like their children to experience farming for a day to wear garden gear, put on sunscreen, bring gloves and help out.
