In 2018 the Regional Network on Homelessness prioritized Planning for Weather Related Emergencies and convened an Emergency Planning Committee comprised of representatives from Catholic Social Services, Duffy Health Center, Housing Assistance Corporation, Barnstable County Regional Emergency Response Committee (BCREPC), Barnstable County Human Services, Vinfen, Town of Barnstable Police Department, Homeless Prevention Council, and NAMI.  The primary goal of the committee is to coordinate emergency weather responses and maximize utilization of resources for the homeless population during weather related emergencies.  The committee also released the “Summary of FY 19 Outcomes and Recommendations” which details efforts to date and next steps for responding to the needs of those experiencing homelessness on the Cape during dangerous weather conditions.
